What to expect

When you first complete the training, we recommend you follow the proposed schedule below to effectively prepare and to get the most out of the session itself. We have also included an estimated schedule for the training session itself so you know what to expect.

Training Preparation

Before the training session itself, follow the steps below to prepare. Doing this will help you get the most out of the session itself.

Training Schedule

Below is a proposed schedule for the training itself. Every training is unique because each group is unique, but this schedule will provide a guide to what the training schedule may look like.

We like to start our sessions introducing the presenters, providing an overview of the information that will be collected and encouraging questions throughout as they come up.

This section covers the compounds that are interacting with the endocannabinoid system and how those interactions play out. This includes information on endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids and other compounds such as terpenes.

This section covers the indications that respond to cannabinoid treatment, the treatment protocols we implement and the regulations that impact this treatment.

This section covers the patient journey through eCS Clinic; how eCS Pharmacies integrate into that system and key expectations to set for patients early on. This will also set the scene for the services covered in the next section.

This section covers the eCS Clinic services being delivered by each eCS Pharmacy in detail. This covers the intention behind each service and walkthroughs so you know how to implement.  Additionally, it will discuss any other administration tasks required around the provision of these services.

This section covers the dispensing of medications, how the script is handled from the clinic to the compounding pharmacy and then to the eCS Pharmacy for collection. Additionally, this covers potential ADRs, contraindications and potential interactions.

This section covers the support patients will receive at each touchpoint with eCS Clinic & eCS Pharmacy, leading up to their treatment and beyond. This support is aligned to optimise patient outcomes without unwanted side effects.

This section closes the training and will leave you with contact information that may be used to access support at any time.

Remember that we are here to support you, with any questions or feedback you may have.

We have recorded a pharmacy education and training session here for you to be able to refer back to.

The supporting materials below can be downloaded or opened alongside this presentation to help you follow along and for future reference.

eCS Pharmacy Process

Understanding Cannabinoids

eCS Pharmacies are provided with access to the latest research and understanding of the endocannabinoid system and cannabinoid medications.

The Handbook is required reading for everyone working within the eCS Clinic network, it provides an extensive guide to cannabinoids.

Materials and Identifying Patients

The endocannabinoid system modulates just about every physiological function in your body. Chronic endocannabinoid deficiency syndrome (CEDS) can present as a plethora of indications.

We provide you the tools to identify CEDS, determine if a patient is appropriate and answering any questions they may have.

New Patient Registration

Every patient is contacted regularly over the first few months to provide helpful advice, help fine-tune your medication as needed, and communicate important information to your doctor.

This allows us to ensure patients get the most out of their treatment and communicate important information to you, their doctor.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to print the form for the patient to complete and then complete the online form.

Download the printable NPR form.

Practitioner Consult Booking

In the eCS Practitioner consultation, the information collected at the pharmacy will be reviewed and the appropriate treatment would be determined.

If medications are prescribed in this consultation, once ready to collect, the medications are mailed to your pharmacy for pickup.

The eCS Pharmacy homepage is designed for easy access to the things you need and the latest information so you can effectively support patients on their journey to rebalance their endocannabinoid system.
